Here are some more updates on what kept us busy during the Christmas season!! One of our favorite things to do is to put lights up on the house. I love pulling up to the house when it looks like this:) The picture doesn't do it justice, but you get the idea.
Christmas 2008 house decorations! Ella would say goodbye to the lights everytime we left the house :)
I love my Nativity Scene. This picture is a little blurry, but it really is beautiful.
After I put Ella's first gift under the tree, she had to check it out a little ;)
This was our first real taste of Winter weather in December. Love it!
Christmas Parade 2008
We were excited to take Ella to the Christmas parade this year! It was really cold that morning, but she really enjoyed it. I thought she might be scared by some of the loud sounds (firetrucks, etc), but she wasn't at all!
All smiles, waiting for the parade to start!
Gotta love hometown parades. So fun.
Ella is saying "Choo-Choo" here...that's what she says when she hears sirens. :)
All of us after the parade. We are cold!
As you can see, Ella got a lot of candy! And we didn't even pick up half of it because it was stuff Ella couldn't have (like hard candy, etc).
Christmas Parties!
This is Ella and I at one of the Christmas parties we went to this season! This one is with Tom's old CitiFinancial co-workers. Such nice people. Great food, and Ella got a little treat bag, and Tom and I even got gifts too!
Waiting for Mama to fix her a plate....this girl likes to eat!
Santa's Magical Kingdom
Another thing we were excited to do with Ella this year was to take her to the big drive through light show up near Six Flags, called Santa's Magical Kingdom. We also went to one here in Rolla, called Christmas in the Park, which was really good too. But this one was better, check out the pictures!!
The view as we waited in the L-O-N-G line!
Entrance to the park.
A little replica of the Arch. The lights looked like fireworks and were so cool!
It was windy that night, and you could see some of the lights swinging around.
More lights....
And they had a lot of little sets, including this adorable Gingerbread house.
These light tunnels are my favorite.
Since you never go over 5 mph, we decided it would be ok for Ella to sit in my lap so she could see the lights better :)
Christmas Baking 2008
Every year my mom, sister and I get together and bake our Christmas goodies. We were so excited because my nieces Emma and Miah came to join in the fun, and we were able to start the tradition with them, too :) Ella stayed at home with Daddy, actually when I was baking was when she was drawing on her walls (as seen in a previous post). ;)
Miah and Emma. Aren't they beautiful girls?
Sum, my Mom and I. A self portrait, no doubt.
This picture is sideways, but here is our homeade chex mix before we put it in the oven!
Cherry chocolate kiss cookies.
Peanut clusters. These are Tom's and my favorite.
Chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter clusters.
Peanut butter brownie cookies.
A Visit to Santa
Santa was at the bank where my sister works, so we decided to take Ella there to meet him. All the way there, she told me how she was going to sit on his lap. Of course when we got there, she froze. But she agreed to take a picture BESIDE him, as long as Daddy was there too. Of course when we left, it was all she could talk about!
Ok, well I think we are finally caught up on Pre-Christmas stuff! Next will be Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Hope everyone had a very Happy New Year!

What a fun update! I love Ella's face in the Santa picture - not so sure of the big red guy :)
Happy New Year to our favorite Veos!!
I love all of your pics. Your nativity scene is beautiful. I need to get one for next year.
side note: I did read my sister's keeper and I also thought it was a great book. Yes, go out and get the Jenny McCarthy books- seriously funny stuff.
Hope you get to catch the other movies too!
Great pictures, April! The house looks really sharp!
We've never been to Santa's Magic Kingdom - I hope we can make some time to go there in the future with Annalise!
Love all your pictures! The family pics are so great - you'll treasure them forever. :)
Oh my gosh! Those baked treats look so good!!!!! Too bad I cant eat chocolate, its like something is missing from my life :( Ella is getting so tall! When she sits on your lap her little body just keeps on going, and going. Looks like you all had a great Christmas. I also love pulling up to the house when its all lit up with Christmas lights. I am proud of you getting that huge post up. I think I am just passing up Christmas, and probably wont go back. I avoid the big posts.
